During his professional career, Dr. Jilani has worked in various specialties in NHS hospitals including Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Endocrinology and Diabetes, General Medicine and Rheumatology. He has treated patients in Coronary Care and Intensive Care Units and is experienced in acute medical emergencies. He performed endoscopic procedures such as gastroscopy and colonoscopies during his appointment at St Mary’s Hospital, Isle of Wight.
Dr. Jilani held the post of Clinical Assistant in Echocardiography at Bristol Royal Infirmary, gaining experience in non-invasive cardiac screening. He also performed exercise ECG and Holter monitoring of patients in the Cardiac Unit.
He is experienced in performing practical procedures such as insertion of a temporary cardiac pacemaker as well as performing procedures such as liver biopsies, bone marrow aspirations, pleural biopsies, chest drains, and lumbar punctures.
Dr. Jilani gained experience in the use of Botox in muscle spasticity following strokes & head injuries. Dr. Jilani has taught medical students and junior doctors and has delivered lectures and presented clinical cases in hospital meetings in the UK and abroad.
He conducted a seminar on Cardiopulmonary resuscitation for doctors at St Mary’s Hospital, Isle of Wight and assisted in publishing protocol for thrombolysis in acute myocardial infarction in the Coronary Care Unit.
